Hindu couple embraces Islam

KHANEWAL, Sept 20 (APP): A Hindu couple, belonging to Umar Kot, Sindh, embraced Islam at the hands of a local religious scholar here Saturday. Mahu Jee son of Surwa Jogi and his would-be wife Seeta daughter of Mithu Jogi embraced Islam at the hands of Maulana Azizur Rahman.

They were renamed Muhammad Ramzan and Aisha Bibi, after which their nikah was solemnised in the chamber of Ghulam Jilani and Anjum Joya advocates at the district courts.

The couple told newsmen that they had been desiring to embrace Islam since long but their respective families were resisting this move.

“Islam is the religion of truth and brotherhood, in which there is no class difference, while in Hinduism there is a caste and class system, which looks down upon the lower castes, the untouchables and the poor,” explained the convert Muhammad Ramazan.
